Dr Alex Iranzois a Consultant Neurologist and Sleep Medicine Specialist, and the head of theSleep Unit at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, Spain. He is a Professor of Neurology at the Faculty ofMedicine of the University of Barcelona. He is the coordinator of the subject Diseases of theNervous System at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Barcelona. His research workincludes the obtention of 16 competitive research projects (5 international, 11 national) with anoverall secured funding exceeding 2 million euros. He is the author of 262 articles, with acumulative impact factor of 2,485. He has received 11 awards for best scientific articles fromscientific societies. Dr Iranzo has also been the editor of three books, author of 74 book chapters,38 reviews and 18 editorials. Dr Iranzo is the president of the International REM Sleep BehaviorDisorder Study Group. He is part of the editorial boards of journals such as Sleep, Sleep Medicineand Current Treatment Options in Neurology.
