Dr María San Román, MD, PhD candidate, is a Medical Oncology Consultant at Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre (Madrid, Spain) and a member of the Gastrointestinal and Neuroendocrine Tumors Research Group (imas12).

Her clinical and research focus is on gastrointestinal and neuroendocrine neoplasms, with particular interest in molecular characterization, predictive biomarkers, and resistance mechanisms to targeted therapies and immunotherapy.

Dr San Román has participated in multiple national and international research initiatives and has contributed to more than 20 peer-reviewed publications, including first-author papers in oncology journals. Her work has been supported by competitive grants from organizations such as GETNE and AECC, and is focused on integrating molecular and clinicopathological data to improve the characterization and management of neuroendocrine neoplasms.
