Joanie Pfahl is a registered nurse working as the outpatient infusion nurse at Atlantic Urology Clinics (AUC) in Myrtle Beach, SC.  She received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Mount Aloysius College in Cresson, PA. Joanie has over 36 years of experience as a registered nurse in multiple areas including the intensive care unit, medical surgical unit, emergency room, pediatrics, and oncology.  Since November 2015, she has been administering chemotherapy and immunotherapy infusions to patients with genitourinary malignancies, which includes renal cell carcinoma, urothelial cancer, and advanced prostate cancer.  The unique position as the infusion nurse at AUC has been constantly evolving with the new advances of immunotherapy treatments.  Joanie has been adapting to the new treatment landscape by developing new policies and procedures for AUC, educating patients and their families on their treatments, managing adverse events, and coordinating patient care between multiple disciplinary areas of oncology. Joanie is a member of the Oncology Nursing Society and the Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates. As a member of the rapid response team at AUC, she has her Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification. Joanie has also served on multiple advisory boards for renal cell carcinoma and urothelial cancer.
